A few weeks ago we were approached by one of the Gr.12 students at Terry Fox Secondary, one of the two high schools in our home town of Port Coquitlam BC.
Every year the graduating class organizes a number of fundraising events throughout their final year, with the money raised going towards a legacy project decided on by the class. Proposals are put forward and it is put to a vote.
It came down to a first place tie after the first round of voting, and recently we were thrilled to learn that the class of 2015 selected ABAKiS as their legacy project. There is a tremendous sense of pride involved in this community, which has a history of supporting extremely worthy causes. We will of course be working closely with the students to help them to create a very specific legacy for their fundraising efforts.
